Weekly competitions – Men
Each week starting in March and ending around end September there will be a mens’ golf competition including six medal competitions. The competition will be played over a Friday, Saturday and Sunday with results posted on the website usually by Monday evening. The competition will alternate between white tee stroke, yellow tee stroke and yellow tee stableford. On weekends when the main competition is stroke, a yellow tee stableford alternative will be available to members. A 9 hole competition is also available. Members can play in one, two or all three competitions over the three days.
Entrance is by putting your name on the timesheet and payment at Pro shop on day of play.
Gerry Fox Four ball /Better Ball
The qualification competition is played over 18 holes stroke with 32 pairs to qualify. Entrance is via timesheet and payment at Pro shop.
Entrance to the following competitions is at the start of season via registering and making payment at the office.
Club Championship (36 Hole Scratch Stroke): John F Neill Cup
The competition is over 36 holes. Any player of a handicap of 8 or under shall be eligible to enter. This competition is open to all male Members.
Vice Captain’s Tankard (36 Hole Nett Stroke)
Qualification shall be by the four best cards from 6 monthly medals. The top 35 and those tying shall qualify. The holder shall be exempt.
Chris Boyd Trophy (18 Hole Stroke)
Qualification – under 21 years of age on the 1st January of that year.
Trustees Cup (Match Play Singles)
This competition is open to all male Members.
Jordan Shield (Match play – Foursomes)
This competition is open to all male Members.
Stephenson Cup (Match play Singles Scratch)
This competition is open to all male Members.
Winter League – teams of around 12 players with the top eight scores counting each week. Rules vary from year to year and the competition is played January to March.
Club competitions – Women
Ladies weekly competitions are held each Tuesday with alternate day competitions on Saturday and Sunday (restricted tee times). On Tuesday we also have a 9 hole qualifying competition. Approximately 5 fourball competitions are held throughout the year with some qualifying for matchplay. Occasional fun competitions are held eg Texas scramble and 3 ball team events. We also hold 4 Ladies Open Days. Mixed competitions are popular and generally take place during holiday periods. The Victor and Ruth Salter is our mixed club matchplay competition.

The Alec Potter Trophies – 3 best nett and 3 best gross on all stroke play competitions.

Claire O’Neill Salver – 31-36 handicap 18 hole matches June- September

Victor & Ruth Salter (Match play – Mixed Foursomes)
This competition is open to all Members.
Hat Competition
A 9 hole Hat competition will be held every Wednesday during the main golf season and is open to all members, men and ladies, and their guests. Members and their guests playing in the Wednesday Hat competition have priority over all other players on the 1st tee from 4pm until 7pm but cards for the Hat competition may be taken out anytime on the Wednesday. Members can turn up at the tee during 4 to 7 and will allocated to the next available playing group.
All visitors must be signed in by a Member. The concession green fee is only applicable to those visitors participating in the Hat competition. A visitor participating in the Hat competition may complete the 18 holes.
