Dress Code
Bangor Golf Club considers that appropriate behaviour both in the clubhouse and on the Golf Course is more important than dictating how an individual should be dressed. However some guidelines are necessary, so please note the following.
Clubhouse
Any smart casual clothing, including smart denim (ie not ripped, cut-off, frayed or distressed) , is acceptable in the Clubhouse although we draw the line at caps, flip-flops, beach style shorts and football shirts. We do not allow golf shoes of any type to be worn indoors, except in the locker rooms, and we also ask that you change out of any dirty or wet clothing before entering the Lounges. Smart Shirts designed to be worn outside Trousers, Shorts or Skirts and Modern Casual Shoes including Smart Trainers, Sandals, Loafers and Deck Shoes are permitted.
Golf Course
The guideline is that any recognised golfing apparel that can be purchased from a professional golf retail outlet is acceptable. Gentlemen’s shirts that are designed to be worn outside the waistband are acceptable. Socks must be worn. Golf shorts should be tailored but cargo shorts are not, as yet, deemed to be “golfing apparel”. Note that the golf course includes practice areas and putting greens.
Dress code for private events will be as agreed with the General Manager and for social events will be as listed on the event ticket and notice.
